POINT TO POINT SPAM FILTERING TAGS

Point To Point Spam Filtering tags suspected spam with an identifier in the email Subject line. You may then use your email client's rules to place this incoming mail in a special folder. That will allow you to quickly and easily review the suspected spam and delete all unwanted messages.

Here are instructions for creating spam-filtering rules in MS Outlook and MS Outlook Express:

MS Outlook Rules
Open Outlook and click on Tools, then Rules Wizard.
Click on New to create a new Rule
Check Start from a blank rule
Fill-out the form as follows:
Click on Check messages when they arrive, then click Next
Put a check in the box next to with specific words in the subject
In the bottom field, click on specific words
In the dialogue box that pops up, type [SPAM] (with the brackets) and click Add, and then OK
Click Next
Click on Move it to the specified folder
In the bottom field, click on specified
In the dialogue box that pops up, click on New (to create a new folder) and type in Suspected Spam, click OK, and OK again.
Click Next, and click Next again (to avoid putting in any exceptions).
Click Finish
Click OK
Your suspected junk email will automatically be put onto the Suspected Spam mailbox.


MS Outlook Express Rules
Open the Outlook Express mail client.
Click on the Tools menu, and select Message Rules. From the sub-menu that opens, select Mail. The New Mail Rule window opens.
In the section labeled 1. Select the Conditions for your rule: click the box to the left of Where the Subject line contains specific words
In the section labeled 2. Select the Actions for your rule: click the box to the left of Move it to the specified folder
In the section labeled 3. Rule Description (click an underlined value to edit it): click on contains specific words
In the pop-up box labeled Type specific words or a phrase, and click Add, type [SPAM] (with the brackets), click Add, and then OK to close the pop-up.
In the section labeled 3. Rule Description (click an underlined value to edit it): click on specified.
In the pop-up box, click New Folder; for Folder Name, type Suspected Spam. Click OK, and OK again to close the pop-up window.
Click the OK button, and you will be returned to the New Mail Rule window.
In the section labeled 4. Name of the rule: delete the text that is in the box and type Spam.
Click the OK button, and the Message Rules window will open, showing your new Spam rule in the upper box
Click the OK button to close the Message Rules window and to return to the Outlook Express main window.
